It's no 911, but then it lists at 60% (I think) the cost of a 911. The point I was trying to make with my Leica wish list is that Leica should trying selling more than the ne plus ultra line of M6 rangefinders. Something in the 1K USD range. Not as a replacement for the M but a complement to it. What would be the benefits of a mid-range Leica? It would likely do to rangefinders what the Contax G1 did: broaden the market and increase sales for rangefinders without canibalizing the existing M market. People who bought the G1 were not choosing between the G1 and a Leica M6, but were choosing between the G1 and a Nikon or Canon something. I'd bet that there are a lot of G1 owners who are trading up to Leica. If Leica had the balls to create a rangefinder product which would price compete with the G1/G2 (not necessarily feature compete) Leica would take Contax out of the rangefinder business.
