I have an opportunity to purchase a 90/2.8 Elmar lens...it is a chrome S4 collapsible model for my M6 (when it works)...Asking price is $900. The dealer reports it to be very clean with good glass... Good Price/Bad Price? Worthwhile Purchase? Any and all comments will be well received... Thanks, Joe Hayes >> First, if it's a collapsible 90 Elmar it's an f/4 not an f/2.8. Second, if it's just "very clean with good glass" then the price is about twice what it should be. Even in mint, collector condition it wouldn't fetch $900, maybe $600 tops and that's a stretch. It's a good lens, but for a tad more than $900 you can find a current-generation 2.8 Elmarit, which is simply an *outstanding* lens. DT
