Let's assemble comparable systems and compare: snip When you look at the whole picture, thier claims of compactnes and light weight are not unfounded. XXXXXXXXXX Jim, Perhaps to be fair, you should add in a 50 macro lens to the Canon and the 65 elmar/Visoflex to the Leica ;-) The weight issue is of course important, but for me bulk is also an issue. Most of the rangefinder lenses can be stowed very neatly in a pocket or photo vest, whereas SLR optics are much bigger.
