Bill,
Having been a student, I think you will confuse your students by using 'depth of
focus'  for depth of field.  I think students can grasp the 'depth of field'
concept, and if this is a new term for them, isn't that what 'teaching' is
about?  Keep 'depth of focus' in the camera.
