Otherwise, hit the delete! Leica is offering one M6 and one R8 course in English....the mentioned course being the first M6 ever. Many others in German. I understand a good number of Luggers were in Wetzlar recently, so I will not dwell on the old town which is quite picturesque with the same buildings that appear in the early Leica photos. There were 12 participants....4 from the US, 4 from the UK, 2 from Denmark, 1 from Prague, 1 from Canada. Varying levels of experience and proficiency, but many of the group own multiple lenses and Leica bodies of all types. A very friendly diverse group, we managed well together, got somewhat snuckered on beer and wine, and enjoyed each other's company. Price is reasonable considering the lodgings, meals, and tuition are all included. Total of three days. Morning lectures and demonstration followed by picture taking sessions in the Old Town. Leica supplies all the equipment ( M6TTL ), 3 lenses, bag, grip, tripods, and film. Nice opportunity to use gear that one might not have tried previously. Slide film only, developed and returned the next day, and then gentle criticism and suggestions. Unfortunately I had to leave early because of the sudden illness of my Dad, but over all I think the time was fun, and instructive. Minor criticisms of the couse might include the need for just a bit more emphasis on technique and composition. We had a factory tour, but in the interest of at least some brevity I'll dwell with such tour in my next post this evening. Elliot
