In fact, all UK retail prices for cameras carry a 17.5% VAT (tax) which is 
refundable to purchasers from outside the European Union.   This is refunded 
by Customs & Excise after you have left the country.   Many retailers will 
arrange it for you, or you can do it yourself when checking out at the 
airport.

This makes UK equipment considerably cheaper than it may at first appear with 
a new M6 coming out at just over $2000 with Leica cashback, and second-hand 
from around $1200.
