But just prior to the thesis, I had written a paper on the lateral distribution of e.coli from arctic DEW sites in freeze and thaw conditions over time. Both thesis and paper, I am sure, have had significant impact upon our culture. I just know that if I actually get to the arctic tundra, I am not going to drink the snow nor water without boiling it first. Not suitable for a PhD dissertation because rather than piled deeper and higher it just spreads laterally.
