I just spent a few days in Paris...sure didn't see many of them around.  But 
I didn't spot *any* Leicas there, either ; )  Saw a whole group of photogs 
taking tripod-mounted shots of the Tour Eiffel at night, and none of them 
were using Gitzo's either.
