Reboot your machine (I mean shutdown it physically). Did you remove all references to Photoshop or Aldus in the registery and all files and directories of Photoshop from the file system before re-installing? Try to reapply all patches and service packs or Windows and PS. Can you run other programs using the scanner(s)? Can you run other programs using the printer Photoshop uses? Did you remove a directory in which Photoshop saved something during the last session? Try to remove all files in the plug-ins directory (make a backup first!). Look in the manual if there is a keyboard key that you could press when lauching PS in order to let it take the default parameters (Corel has one). Do you have enough disk space? Delete all temporary files you find. Check if there are read-only files or directories on your disk and reset the attribute (type ATTRIB -R *.* /S at the command prompt in the root of all disks). Hope this helps. - -- Jean-Claude Berger (jcberger@jcberger.com) Systems and RDBMS consultant (MCSE) Lyon, France http://www.jcberger.com > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us > [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On > Behalf Of Tim > Atherton > Sent: Saturday 21 August 1999 09:32 > To: Filmscanners@halftone.co.uk; NPPA-L@CMUVM.CSV.CMICH.EDU; > leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us; williams@Adobe.COM; > STOCKPHOTO@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM; epson-inkjet@leben.com > Subject: [Leica] PS5 HELP....? > > > Any Photoshop 5/Win98 whizzes out there? > > I try starting Photoshop, it gets halfway through the > opening sequence (PS > logo still on the page etc) and jams up at the same > spot each time, with the > following message; > > PHOTOSHP caused an invalid page fault in > module <unknown> at 0000:00000013. > Registers: > EAX=02edee6c CS=0257 EIP=00000013 EFLGS=00210207 > EBX=00cde6a4 SS=025f ESP=00edf6ad EBP=00cdeab4 > ECX=00abbd1c DS=025f ESI=007aed90 FS=5a0f > EDX=00abbcfc ES=025f EDI=00abbd3c GS=0000 > Bytes at CS:EIP: > 00 54 ff 00 f0 08 80 00 f0 6f ef 00 f0 00 00 00 > Stack dump: > > What do I do (look like some kind of registries thing?) > > I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. > > I have a stack of work to do, and now I am STUCK - help > > Tim A > > >
