I have a "21" (non-ASPH), & love it, but I probably will buy the 21 screw mount from Adorama at some point this year. If you're looking for something cheaper than the Leica lens, that one is probably the way to go. I've seen some great reports on it, but not-so-great on their "28". Unless you have some ties in Japan, I imagine the Ricoh lens is already long gone. Is there a good reason not to use the 21mm F2.8 Leica lens? I bought one recently and it is *stunning*. See: http://www.woodleyside.co.uk/images/leica/fieldsmall.jpg http://www.woodleyside.co.uk/images/leica/house%2021mm.jpg for two examples of this (they are low res JPGs, but you will get the point) Jon - -----Original Message----- From: Simon Pulman-Jones [mailto:spulmanjones@lbs.ac.uk] Sent: 26 July 1999 12:49 To: Leica-Users@Mejac. Palo-Alto. Ca. Us Subject: [Leica] Ricoh 21mm lens? Does anybody have any information about the Ricoh 21mm lens? I think it was due out in spring this year, but unlike the Cosina/Voigtlander lenses it doesn't seem to have made much of an impression on the LUG or the press. Are they only available in Japan? I'm looking for a compact, affordable 21mm which I can use on an M5 and have a feeling the Ricoh may fit the bill. Thanks, Simon.
