I cannot sing the praises of the Aristo VC unit loudly enough. The increased light output along with the control capability has significantly reduced exposure times and made printing a real pleasure again. The Aristo has really proved its worth to me in dealing with dense areas in the neg. A straight print with no manipulation with the Aristo gave the image I wanted where the Z6 and filters required a 200% burn to bring out the high values. Aristo does have a web site - http://www.aristogrid.com - and has proven responsive and informative to the questions I've posed by email. The only drawback I've noted is that the unit is a bit light for the counterbalance mechanism in the carriage of my venerable enlarger so I must take care to tighten everything down to keep the enlarger head from rising on its own.
