Mike,
I have owned German Shepherds nearly my entire adult life and my parents
owned a couple while I was growing up.  Also, have known quite a few others
that own them.  I have NEVER heard of any of 'em biting their owners or any
member of their family!  Shepherds are very much a pack animal and consider
"family" as part of the pack.  Naturally, I'm partial but they are great
dogs and wonderful pets!
