A0 is a sheet having a surface of 1 square meter with the long side of the rectangle being the small side * square root(2), that is 841 * 1189 mm. A1 is AO folded by the half of the large side, that is 594 * 841. And so on to A10. So A4 is 210 * 297 mm. For those who still use a measuring system coming from the Middle Age :-), an inch is about 25,4 mm. - -- Jean-Claude Berger (jcberger@jcberger.com) Systems and RDBMS consultant (MCSE) Lyon, France http://www.jcberger.com - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of KPETERS Sent: Tuesday 27 July 1999 07:23 To: Leica List Subject: [Leica] A4, etc perhaps a dumb question, but I keep running into "A4" size prints, etc, etc. What are the "inch" equivalents to these "A-series" size prints? Can someone clarify this? Are these standard "European" size prints, and if so, does the "A" stand for anything?? Thanks, Kent
