Only occasionally are they the only or even the best way to get the job done: but what occasions and what results! The fact that few pros use Leicas is IMHO a vicious circle - if the great results Leicas can produce don't get seen (i.e. pro's work published) then fewer and fewer pros AND amateurs will be attracted by the brand and they will go out of business.
