Well, like I said, I never use them as couplers. I just use them as cap replacements to cut down the number of bits I have to juggle when changing lenses. Take lens with cap out of bag, snap old lens out of camera, twist it onto back of new lens, twist off new lens, put on camera, drop old lens in bag. And as to "why?", remember the KISS rule. Why have two devices (couplers and caps) when one (a capler?) will do? Paul Chefurka
