Thanks for the reply.  I've heard there may be an adapter that will take the
1.5v silver oxide and step it down to the 1.35v level--and afford more
stability than the alkalines.  If so, does anyone know if this would work in
the SL?

And if it weren't already enough that I marvel at your bird images, now I
have to be outclassed by your mother's memory.  Sheesh!  :-)
