It might not be a Leica lens, but it will fit nicely on any old screwmount and most likely run rings around the 3,5/35 or even an expensive 2.8/35. I am all for supporting Cosina in their effort to widen our choices and as I already have the 15 and the 25 and am very impressed with the quality of these two, reasonably priced, alternatives, I am willing to trust Cosinas output. So the barrels might be lighter than Leicas and after some heavy use they will show wear or loosen up, but the price for the 35/1,7, the 50/1,5 and the 75/2,5 is the same as for a 75/1,4 and the combined weight of the three lenses is less than the 75/1,4. It is not that I am selling off the Leica lenses, the Cosina/Ricoh/Konica/Zeiss/Nikon and Canon lenses that I have in LTM or M mount are supplementing the Leica lenses. They also have a different character than the Solms/Midland lenses and variety is supposedly the spice of life! What Cosina has done that is truly smart, is making an auxiliary finder for the various lenses and I have ordered a 75 finder to go with the 75/2,5 and also for the times when I want to use the M3 or M2 with this lens. Leica should have made that style finder in 1981 when they introduced the 75/1,4. Tom A
