But where oh where can i get cheap 3x5 or 4x6 prints for the coffee table album from slides? Sure i'll get Cibachromes for the big prints but where can I get the little, cheapies? Do I have to shoot Reala to get the little ones inexpensively ? H E L P !!!>> In prefer matte although with the ilfochromes the gloss is both standard (deluxe) and quite nice. I currently shoot only 35mm slides Leica! and always print out the good ones, if I have 'em. I get R-Prints usually on the Kodak Prof. Paper Matte. Behind glass I find little difference between the cibas and the R's besides gloss. YES! I do see the difference but the prints (good cibas) are too expensive in many or most cases. I don't use Fuji Crystal Archive and would appreciate comment on this vs. Kodak Prof. (I can't at the moment recall the specs on the paper). Using Leicas is fun (anyone else). Seeing the colors jump out at you from the lightbox is what you get for using this good stuff and that's the fruits of your labor (?) But people (in general) want to see a print - they hold the loupe at their eye and the slide on box 3ft in front and can't understand why one shoots slides. If I get a good one I'll get some 5x7's of it - the first is a bit uncheap... but get a few and you've got them. A good lab and you've reached goal. Don't compromise (too) much! A good shot with a Leica reaches a comprehensive and dramatic fulfillment when it is seen! R-print is the way to go if you've got a good lab. I've tried the fujix and other digital (not the Lightjet 5000!) processes but prefer otherwise. If you laminate the 5x7's it's a bit more(but you can wipe 'em off easier) and you don't have to tell people not to touch the print! If you are shooting an event and want to provide prints for everyone to look at then if you know this beforehand shoot Reala or I prefer 160 portra VC. If not default to the goodies. So, i.e, if you get a bunch of good shots with K.25 using an M6 with 35asph you should give them justice, especially if you are demonstrating or justifying your whopping Leica purchases! No internegs!
