His hypothesis is that the tripod support on my lens is a U.S. spec one. Can any of the stateside LUGgers help? I always thought that there were only two sizes possible, the 1/4 inch on the M6 and 3/8 inch on the M3. Is there some other size, in-between, used in the U.S.? A nice user, cosmetically ugly but optically almost mint. Since this is a very substantial piece of glass (well over 1 kg), it includes a tripod mounting ring on the lens barrel. However, the thread is of some strange size: bigger than M6 but smaller than M3. So neither of my tripod mounting plates is usable. Any suggestions? TIA.
