Dr. Blacktape has sadly discovered that if the light isn't JUST right - angle, intensity, etc. - the Serenar SUCKS. Sorry, the Good Doctor is loath to use such a crude descriptive term, but it certainly fits. Flare? You want flare? You want muddy images? Try an old LSM Serenar without a lens shade under less than ideal conditions and you'll have FLARE. Interesting flare, perhaps - but flare none the less. Flare you won't get with a 35 Summilux ASPH. Ah well, so much for saving money by buying 40-year-old optics.
