And coping with midday tropical sun and shadows (okay, Alex Webb can do it, but I can't), or indoors when you are down to 1/8th second at 1.4 and people are moving around (and I can't afford a Noctilux yet!). Try selling b&w reportage these days. Even Gene Richards (who doesn't use a Leica) is shooting advertising to make ends meet. I still do B&W anyway, but grainy colour somehow just doesn't feel the same as grainy b&w - now why is that? What were the last two big b&w photo essays you saw in Time or Newsweek or even Life. And if you can remember two, where they less than 6 months apart? How much Kosovo stuff did you see in B&W? (and there was some good colour)? Sad but true I am afraid. Tim
