Yes. And you don't have to refrigerate/freeze them, although it is best to
keep them in a cool and more importantly dry place.

Aha! So I can stock up on the mercuries. I was thinking about it today, as I
was
buying the last 5 batteries left at one dealer in Brussels. I guess this
explains why they are not marked with a "sell by" date the way alkalines
are.
