Dear Rob:

Dr. Black Tape thinks you may be using rubber bands that are too thin for
the task at hand. Dr. Black Tape finds that with the right rubber band in
place he can push down on the softie to turn on the meter, but the meter
turns off as it is supposed to. Dr. Black Tape has also found, by the way,
that if he pushes hard on the softie - a confusing concept, he knows - it is
still possible to take a shot when necessary with the rubber band in place.

And Dr. Black Tape sends a big Thanks! and an autographed 8x10 to Dan Post,
who sent us the wonderful suggestion that we make our own black rubber bands
out of old inner-tubes. Way to go, Dan-O! Thanks to people like you Dr.
Black Tape and his friends won't have to be embarrassed by using equipment
that is not properly color-coordinated. ;-)
