I have = two- a 600 and a Stylus Photo. In my experience they have been very = reliable- I've run about 800 prints throught the Stylus Photo so far = this year with only occasional head cleaning for maintenance. Software = is good too. You might want to consider biting the bullet and going for the 1200, = which may be more than $500 (I don't know yet- have just requested a = price quote from my dealer) but prints in a larger size than cheaper = printers as well as offering some quality advantages over earlier = models. Iexpect that the price will be closer to the Photo EX than to = big printers like th 1520 or 3000. If you buy a smaller format printer, = I suspect you will fairly quickly wish that you went for the bigger one. = Specs for the 1200 are available via Epson's European web site, which = you can reach via Epson's home page at www.epson.com. As well, there is = an excellent and very active Epson listserv which you can subscribe to = via www.leben.com. There are some interesting issues associated with = inkjets, such as print longevity, alternative media and inks, and colour = management. These are discussed frequently on the Epson list. Good Luck! Next = step: colour printer. Can someone please recommend a brand/model for = <$500 that would print photo quality (or near!) pics? Can any colour = printers print just on regular paper and if so what is the difference? = Any favorite colour printers out there and if so, why??? =20 =20 Also, has anyone tried taking their scanned images to Kinko's for = colour printing? Any good/bad results??? Thanks again, Kent - ------=_NextPart_000_0011_01BE9B28.DF32D440 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD W3 HTML//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <META content=3Dtext/html;charset=3Diso-8859-1 = http-equiv=3DContent-Type><!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD W3 = HTML//EN"> <META content=3D'"MSHTML 4.71.1712.3"' name=3DGENERATOR> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>Kent-</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2></FONT><FONT size=3D2>I agree with = other posters=20 that Epson printers are very good.
