Meters don't have uniform spectral sensitivity throughout the visible
spectrum.  Some compensation may be needed with certain filters to
compensate for loss of meter sensitivity with certain wavelengths.  The
type of light source used also affects meter sensitivity (i.e. tungsten
lighting vs mid-day daylight, etc.)
