I think your choice is a bit wider than suggested. It does not have to be a
35mm viewfinder, the main thing is that it has a 2-to-3 side relationship (
a finder for a 6-by-9 will do nicely) and that the angle of view is approx
90° (if you want to see the 21 mm effect). BTW the degrees given for the
coverage refers to the diagonal, not the long side of the negative.

I have a 21 mm lens and have recently taken a dozen films with it, without
a viewfinder but with amazingly good results with regard to area covered: I
just stuck some colored masking tape in form of a V on the top of the M6 to
indicate the horizontal limits which I figured out to be about 77° if the
diagonal is 92°. Great for shots from the hip, and OK for shots using a
tripod when you have lots of time.

Do-it-yourself: remember those 'sports' viewfindedrs which were two
aluminum frames, one to position your eye at the correct spot and the other
an inch or two away to show the limits of the picture. Well they get
difficult for 21 and 24 mm but you may want to give it a try in a cardbox
version.

Anyway, the 50 mm lens has almost exactly half the coverage of the 21mm, so
you can use two 50 mm frames to show what a 21 mm would cover.
