If you are unsure about your new camera, send it my way and I'll test it out for you. Please include some film! Now, more seriously, I am using an old M3 (1954 - #709xxx) that was inherited from a great uncle. He took great care of the camera and photograhing with it was his joy. I have been through about 5-6 rolls of film and was having problems with the rangefinder in low light or poor contrast situations. So I dropped by the local camera store (York in Montreal) and looked at other M3's + showed the camera to them. Diagnosis: prism is desilvered. I can live with it the way it is right now. Could someone tell me their experiences with this problem? How much it cost to get fixed and what the work entailed? In the future I will be looking at getting the camera thoroughly examined. On occassional photos I notice a vertical (if you are holding the camera horizontally or 'normal') overexposed line towards the 'right'. I'm guessing this is a shutter problem. Otherwise no complaints! The camera is a dream & pleasure to use. I am doing some travelling in a couple of months, and though I have to go light I am still very tempted to take along the M3 with a lens or two and put it to use wheree it was meant to be. Thanks Derek PS I was asking for advise about action/whitewater kayaking photography with a rangefinder a week or two ago. Well the results are in and some of the slides came out really well and I am quite pleased - ------_=_NextPart_001_01BE8C28.133A7390 Content-Type: text/html Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <META HTTP-EQUIV=3D"Content-Type" CONTENT=3D"text/html; = charset=3Dus-ascii"> <META NAME=3D"Generator" CONTENT=3D"MS Exchange Server version = 5.0.1461.43"> <TITLE>Quality control</TITLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <P><FONT SIZE=3D2 FACE=3D"Arial">Here is a solution to your quality = control problems.
