Our own authority on lenses, Erwin Puts, writes in his review that "no Leica M user should be without it" or something to this effect. For full detail, go to his home page: http://www.imx.nl/photosite/leica/leicahome.html Also, some people will recommend not buying the 24mm finder, because it is plastic, expensive and so on. I disagree; I too wear glasses and find the finder indispensable. If you do without, then you in effect give up control over the composition of your shot. The finder is not a total loss if you later decide to switch to or add a 21mm lens, because if you ignore the framelines, then it actually covers the 21mm field of view.
