Whenever I buy a jacket, I make sure the pockets are big enough to hold an M with a 50 Summicron. In the winter, spring and fall I use Barbour waxed cotton gear. Keeps my M absolutely dry. I have their over-the-head anorak, called the Longshoreman Smock. Ideal! It has a HUGE flapped chest pocket, and two more underneath to the sides for film, etc. Amazingly there's no bulge. I have three more zippered Barbours -- two have big enough pockets for my M&50 (one has an inside "game pocket" which is also ideal), one dressier model takes the M&35 Summicron. Barbours are not cheap, but anyone who has a Leica doesn't need to be convinced about the joys of owning quality. In Japan I saw an M leather shoulder holster, and a belt holster, which I haven't seen since. I'd like to try one of these when I have to wear a suit jacket, and in the summer. If anyone knows where these are available in the US or Europe, I'd be grateful if you could let me know.
