This was the first time I met Mrs. Abrahamsson, who turned out to be as nice as her husband, and with lots of humor as well! Martin was the younger of us, and we learnt that he will go to the US to continue his studies this summer. As usual, Tom brought lots of Leica gear with him. The most interesting lens was the Cosina/Voigtlander 15/4,5 with finder. I borrowed the lens for half an hour, and it will be interesting to see how good it is. Tom thinks it is very good, and I hope he will tell the LUG more about this lens later. I also saw the Ricoh 28/2,8 for the first time. This lens is more interesting for my own photography than the 15/4,5. Tom says that the 28 is a very good performer, and it is solidly built, with a circular lens hood. I might just order one of these. The lens is LTM, so I will also need an adapter to the Leica-M mount. In order to show the 28/135 finder frames, this adapter needs to be for the 135 mm lens. I hope I will find one, as my own adapter is for 50 mm. Tom also adjusted the lock on my rapidwinder (I wanted it to become a little stiffer), and he also taught me how to take off a M-top plate. I don't think I will ever dare to do it myself, but I like to know what the construction is like. The Abrahamssons told us lots of stories from Solms and Italy. In Italy they met LUGers Ernesto and Luigi (Nocti-king of darkness), and they send their regards to them. To confess, the things that made both mine and Martin's hearts beat a little faster, was Tom's black paint M2 and M3. Tom had his newly acquired chrome Summilux 50/1,4 on his black M2 with rapidwinder. That was a combination to remember (and long for!) Regards, Hans Pahlen
