Yeah, I miss, especially shooting a Canon 50 f 1.4 LTM wide open once >in awhile- but that 'out of focus thing' sometimes has it's own charm.... > >Bob Keene > Bob - I made the mistake of thinking I might need autofocus to photograph cataract surgery yesterday. The surgery was only supposed to take about five minutes and I could image trying to fumble with focusing and getting only one or two photos, so I took my Minolta 9xi in addition to my Leica M6. The noise was awful and I spent most of the time trying to get the blamed thing to focus on what I wanted it to and not what it wanted to! Then everytime it automatically rewound in that quiet operating room with soft classical music playing, the surgeon would sigh deeply! I know it was irritating! I finally put it up and used only the M6. The operation took 20 minutes, not five, so I had plenty of time to take photos. I get to do it again next week when he does the other eye and I'll take only M6's!! Tina Tina Manley, ASMP http://www.tinamanley.com/
