Go shoot a roll of film with subjects back lighted and scenes with
the sun (or strong light source) in the corner of the frame.
You will certainly find the answer to you question.
A lot of my work is done in strong lighting conditions... often with the
light source IN the picture.
Flare, and diffusion is the enemy(not to mention edge distortion). This is
what seperate the "cheap" from the effective.
Then it all depends on your specific needs.
