Alexander,

Your jpg of the 400 Telyt is very helpful.  Your 400 looks like it's in
very nice condition.

The curved aluminum bar shown on the right side of the screen is attached
to the notch in the right end of the (mostly straight) bar at the top of
the picture using a hex-head screw.  I use the hole in the center of the
curved bar to attach the parts.  The curved bar should be attached so that
it angles away from the length-adjustment knob of the straight bar.  If it
angles toward the adjustment knob then it's upside-down.

The circular fitting at the opposite end of the straight bar is attached to
the lower end of the handgrip, so that the bar angles downward and to the
side so that the curved bar rests against your right shoulder.  The tripod
screw at the top of the handgrip is attached to the lens.
