Subject: [Leica] Scratch on Lense

Lugger Friends:

I just noticed a 1/2 inch very light scratch on the surface of my 28mm PC
Super Angulon R Lense.    It is actually white in color which suggests that
the top coating has been removed.  I have tried to removed it by cleaning but
with no success.  What has been your experience with this type of scratch?
Should I send it back to Leica to be polished out, send it somewhere else or
simply forget about it?

I am a real nut about maintaining my equipment in mint condition.  This is the
first time that I have ever had this happen and this lense is a prized
possession.
