I do not find the sales messages bothersome, but rather interesting (not to say mouthwatering at times). But if I ever did, or for anyone else who does, they can easily be deleted as long as they're properly labelled as sales messages in the subject lines. I have never posted one except on a Friday, in deference to the custom and usage of the LUG, but I'd have no problem with anyone posting them at any time. Proper subject labelling is the "sine qua non" here, no? I would fear that to change our current Friday only policy could potentially destroy the things that I enjoy most.<< Personally I think this is ridiculous. The nonsense that gets posted here too much of the time is less related to Leica than offering Leica items for sale. From my perspective I would much rather see Leica goodies offered for sale any day of the week than have to wade through some of the endless debate/banter/so-called discussion that goes on here. And yes, I use my "delete" key regularly. If someone doesn't like the "for sale" stuff posted let them use their delete key just as I do. That is what it is for. Or down load a filter mail system such as MS Outlook Express 5. The Friday sale posting is not policy. It was something put forward by a LUGger and picked up on by other "me too" LUGgers. If "FS" ads are posted periodically through the week, as they once were, they add very little to the traffic. It only seems like there is a lot of such traffic because it hits the LUG all in one day with the Friday posting concept. >>To have a separate forum for trading would be interesting.<< Not as far as I am concerned. Leica is Leica whether it is discussion about technique, equipment, buying & selling, or just a bunch of Leica lovers BS'ing about non-related topics. It is all tied together because of our love for Leica, and this is the spot for it. That which I don't like or care to read I delete. Others might try doing the same thing rather than forcing their perception of rules and structure down our throats. No one asked for it but there it is. My opinion.
