I know it.  I never have the sun in or near the frame.  I just have had an
impression that 50/2R has more veiling flare in some light situations than
other "standard" lenses such as Leica-R (60/2.8), Kyocera-Zeiss (50/1.7,
50/1.4, and 60/2.8), and Nikkor (50/1.8).  This is not an objective
argument, but my wife has the same feeling.  I also know that 50/2R gives
satisfying images in other situations.
