I got first ham license at 12 and spent many hours with the bug. Forty years later, though I no longer have a license or do much copying of code, I have lost little ability. I used to be able to copy about 30wpm even on a typewriter. And I remember vividly those 3 am sessions prying faint signals out of the ether.
