I have seen the light.
Until I read Marcs replay, I was another ignorant user of the old horrible and
as I believe, now just about unusable early Leica lenses. Imagine, at times I
even used an uncoated Summar. I really must have been out of my mind. I was so
silly as to look at my prints, and to like them. In my, as I realize now,
madness, I hung some of them and worth still, exhibited a few.
I decided it just would not do, to have second best. I got rid of all my
existing Leica equipment, cameras and all, sold it to some unsuspecting
individual , and bought a couple of the latest ASPH lenses. I now have two of
the best lenses. It is just a bit of a shame, that I haven't got any camera
bodies left. There was not enough money over, but I am happy with my
super-duper fabulous new lenses. I can now dream what superb super sharp, low
distortion, extreme high macro-contrast pictures iI could take, if just had
something to mount the lenses on.
My motto: Only the very best will do, regardless if it is any use or not.
Thanks to Marc for opening my eyes.

Regards Horst Schmidt
