I had one 50/2.8 El-Nikkor-N that wasn't too impressive. My second was much better. So good, in fact, that I sold my 50 APO Rodagon. Having used both extensively I saw little if any difference. Somebody made an offer on the Rodagon that I couldn't refuse. . I use the El-Nikkor on a Saunders Dichro enlarger and I use a Focotar on my Focomat 1c. I've gone 'round and 'round with condensor vs dichro and El-Nikkor vs Focotar. I've determined that there's no clear winner on either front. However, my Focotar is not the latest. Dave
