Don't be offended, Jim....EVERYTHING about Leica is a "pissing"
contest....just like Collins radios!!! :) :) :)

They're like artists -- Leica attracts the same types -- passionate,
romantic, sometimes wrong but ALWAYS defensive!!! :):)

The rational types always opt for what a friend calls "cheap but
decent performance" -- be it audio, radio, cameras, cars, beverage,
you-name-it!! They buy the $399 "apartment" stereo, the Chevy
Cavalier, the Fuji "Discovery" P&S, and yes, the new digital
cameras....they're all "good enough- get the job done"...

On the plus side, their kids have shoes......:) :)
Digital will NEVER equal the Leica....Solid state will never equal
tubes....etc....
When the digital systems surpass Leica for sharpness/detail, they'll
argue that "double-blind testing is meaningless" -- No, they can't
TELL the difference to a statistically significant degree, but it
doesn't matter. Look at high-end audio.

And before all of you climb on my ass, I'm listening to analog through
a totally tube signal path (completely homebrew, of course) as
I type this..... :):):)
