I am not sure what the difference was in our setups but I certainly do not go through a warm up period before each exposure. All exposures are identical with no lamp head drift and when making multiple prints all are identical. Perhaps the timer makes the difference. If I was going to buy another enlarger set up today it would be the same one. I like the separate controls for the two lamps because you can shut of which one you choose when you are split filter printing. This is a great setup. Ian Stanley, Kathmandu, Nepal
