While it may seem to be preferential treatment, the purchaser DOES pay for it. The cost of "Official" USA Leicas is more than that of grey market, which doesn't have the "Passport." Ken Wilcox"" The import things to remember about the Passport warranty is: A) Theft and Loss are your two greatest areas of exposure. You are far more likely to have it stolen or loose it by dropping it over the side of a boat, etc. B) The Passport warranty DOES NOT cover cosmetic damage. So, you can drop your M6 off of a cliff, you recover it and send it to Leica and they fix it. You end up with a camera that looks like hell...but it works. C) A simple "rider" on your home owner's insurance policy will cover everything (all forms of loss) at a price much less than the additional $200 or $300 you have to pay for the Passport warranty. Think carefully before you invest. Regards, Bill _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com
