Subject: [Leica] leicaflex SL's self timer

Hello Thib,

Just what camera mechanism are you triggering with the self timer and just
what vibrations are you hoping will have died down by then? Do you hope
that a self timer produces less vibration than a cable release?

I fool around a lot with M equipment on various Leitz microscopes and find
that good photomicrography can be had using any of the various adapters
Leitz made for that purpose. They have their own built in leaf shutter
which is shock mounted and their own 45 degree optical viewer so you make
the exposure at the desired instant without vibration, not using the camera
viewer or shutter whatsoever for the exposure. Be glad to send you info if
you don't have it from old catalogs and manuals. Even have some gear to
spare!

regards, Harry
