Subject: [Leica] RE: filter usage + lens tests

This is a complete NON answer. And it is wrong, for the most part. A few
days ago I outlined which lenses were made in cooperation with Minolta.
None of these were prime use lenses. They are all FRINGE lenses. Lets pick
two or the most used lenses. A 35/2 Summicron R and a 50/2 Summicron R. Are
the new lenses better than those made 20 years ago ? Absolutely not. They
are NOT Minolta lenses and have NOT been redesigned. And which, pray tell,
Minolta lenses has Leica redesigned??? As far as I know, those lenses from
Minolta, for the most part, are still from Minolta. Four R lenses have been
re-designed recently. And they were PREVIOUSLY LEICA LENSES not Minolta
lenses. The 19, 28, 50/1.4, and 180/2.8 APO . The ONLY Minolta lenses are.
16, 24, 35-70, 70-210, and 500 Mirror. A new 35-70/2.8 APO was announced by
Leica at Photokina. This is not a re-design of the Minolta 35-70, which
actually is now from Kyocera. Also a different lens. The only Minolta
candidate for "actual redesign" would be the 24. Don't hold your breath
because the current, old, Minolta, 24/2.8 R lens is a fine performer. Been
around since 1974.

So... please explain to us what your statement below is referring to??? It
makes no sense to me.
