Eric,

Take off the blinders. You forgot the E-TTL system from Canon? It was
trialed in the Elan II and is now in the EOS-3 SLR (and also the low end
Rebel G since it was cost effective to manufacture) It is basically a
variation on the Nikon system without the D (distance) information? It
basically pre-flashes and reads the light off the subject at the focusing
point, adjusts the level of flash based on this then flashes to take a
picture (this happens within milliseconds so you don;t really see 2 flashes
easily). Very capable, accurate, and much more advanced than the simple and
somewhat old TTL system of the R and M6 TTl Cameras. While I have to say
Nikon's system is like pure magic, Canon's would be #2.

Alan is right. I think that is the key. If you want automatic flash
control, Nikon can't be beat. Not 'til someone comes up with the equivalent
of D series lenses in their lenses.

Other than that, Leica has more flexibility to control any flash.
