I am looking into the 90 Sumi.. only for the extra stop... that's all... we have done test after test with similar Nikon 105's and my 90 is sharper but contrastier. However, the 90 Suim I have is about six years old now... kinda beat, but still sharp as a tack!... if it weren't for the extra light I need sometimes I'd keep it... what's the going rate for a used one now? As for the 35 f2 vs f1.4.... thet's where I don't need the extra stop... I hand hold down to 1/15th and 1/8th on a regular basis... and blur is OK for newspaper repro so... no worries, however, the extra stop would make things nicer... but the extra money and weight is where i draw the line. The M6 and 35 is bread and butter! almost as much as the 50 IMHO... i tend to use them equally as much, 21 being next, then 90... I really use my nikon gear for anything over 50 in most situations... cause they do a better job for me when stuff is moving fast, and quality isn't the quesiton... but THE shot is... does this make sense?... i'm a weirdo... much like an AP staffer I met in Phnom Penh... he uses M6 24mm... supported by Canon Eos 80-200. We looked at eachother... and did a double take... I was using M6 21mm supported by Nikon N90 80-200 (i'm a weight wuss).... in the end.... 'suppose ya can't go wrong with the 35 Sumicron, weight, cost and performance: quality, baby!... but don't discount the 50, 21(24) or 90 either... for most shooting situations the elmarit will get you by... and the Sumicron will do even better... (50 sumilux is nice though)... there's always more gear...8 ) TT PS... don't drop your stuff on the street... I did in Potlandd, ME, but the local California repair guys adjusted the range finder for $50! in abouu 3 days... so, no problem!... but be careful! ========================================= * * * From the bins of Ed and Stosh * * * * Mazel tov!!! * =========================================
