Dennis it kinda depends on what you mean by "last."

The next_to_last job job I had at Boeing was designing the Induced
Lightning protection for the fly-by-wire(lots of electronics) 777.
Commercial airplanes are designed for a 20 year lifetime.

Last year we sold Katy's 30 year old 1967 Volvo station wagon. It was
still working OK except we had parked it uncovered under a cedar tree
and the body was rusting out.

These products were designed to be carefully maintained. Lots of parts
broke or wore out so had to be replaced during their lifetimes. Dale
