Alastair,

There's an awful lot of R7's out there working, year after year, without
problems. So I think Leica can produce electronics. But when you introduce
a camera "system" a year or two before its time... it will indeed bite you
(them - Leica) in the arse.

Do you have an M camera? And where was it?

PS... I still think the R7 is the premier R camera. Yes, the R8 has a few
neat new features, but if you cannot use them (the camera) what good are
they? Even when you get your R8 back will you take it, as your only camera,
on a long outing or trip? Maybe R8's are only supposed to be used north of
the equator... ;-)
