Some of my thoughts coming from a half Jewish Background: Luftwaffen means air force and although it occasionally sends a chill down my back too it is not an SS deal and could apply to WW1. It's also my understanding that nothing should raise your suspicions more a Luftwaffen on a Leica as the stamping on of which is the Number one scam in the industry to triple the price of a camera (eyebrow raised).
