They are expensive for sure. In fact, some camera stores make their money
on such accessories. But you have to remember that Leica doesn't have the
user base to lower the price on these accessories. Don't sell as many, and
they have to charge more for each one. What WOULD be smart is working out a
deal with another camera manufacturer and basing their eyecups and lenscaps
on standard sizes from another manufacturer. Batteries for motors, heck
they should have bought the tools from Nikon for the MD-4 for the R8! Great
motor.

But then, it wouldn't be Leica made. Shoot, they have a hard enough time
convincing some people that Leicas made in Portugal and Canada are just as
good as from Germany. Let alone parts from Nikon or Minolta or whoever.
